ORDINANCE WLS TELEVISION INC Acct. No. 1589-2 Permit No. 1144737
Be It Ordained by the City Council ofthe City of Chicago:
SECTION 1. Permission and authority are hereby given and granted to WLS TELEVISION INC, upon the terms and subject to the conditions of this ordinance to maintain and use, as now constructed, various public way projections over and on the public right-of-way adjacent to its premises known as 190 N. State St Existing public way projections are described as follows:
Three (3) Horizontal Signs and Storefront Projections
The public way is used for an eight (8) inch projecting illuminated animated sign band and storefront to house the television studio facility for the use of the media in the production and delivery of primarily new content. Existing storefront projection along North State Street measure as follows:
Thirty-two (32) feet in length and eight (8) inches in width.
Thirty (30) feet, two (2) inches in length and eight (8) inches in width.
Twenty-six (26) feet in length and eight (8) inches in width. Vertical Sign Projection
Existing vertical sign projection along North State Street measure eight (8) feet in length and eight (8) feet in width. Vertical illuminated pylon is used for delivery of media content of primarily news nature.
TV Studio Storefront
Existing TV studio storefront along North State Street measure approximately eighteen (18) feet in length and three (3) feet in width. Existing projection is used as part of the State Street television studio for the production and distribution of media content primarily of news nature. Existing storefront is glass and open to view by the public on the north end of North State Street.
The location of said privilege shall be as shown on prints kept on file with the Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection and the Office of the City Clerk.
Said privilege shall be constructed in accordance with plans and specifications approved by the Department of Planning and Development and Department of Transportation (Division of Project Development).
This grant of privilege in the public way shall be subject to the provisions of Section 10-28-015 and all other required provisions of the Municipal Code of Chicago.
The grantee shall pay to. the City of Chicago as compensation for the privilege #1144737 herein granted the sum of one thousand two hundred ($1,200.00) per annum in advance.
A 25% penalty will be added for payments received after due date.
The permit holder agrees to hold the City of Chicago harmless for any damage, relocation or replacement costs associated with damage, relocation or removal of private property caused by the City performing work in the public way.

The applicant referenced above has requested the use of the public right-of-way for a building projection(s). An ordinance has been prepared by the Department of Business Affairs and Consumer Protection - Small Business Center - Public Way Use Unit for presentation to the City Council.
