A RESOLUTION
To honor Jon Bruss, the Past President of Advocate Trinity Hospital and the work that Advocate Trinity Hospital has done for the community.
- WHEREAS, Advocate Trinity Hospital, located at 2320 E. 93rd Street in the city of
- Chicago, is a short-term acute-care facility that provides healthcare to local communities
- in southeastern Chicago;
- WHEREAS, Advocate Trinity Hospital was first opened in 1895 and now serves over
- 90,000 patients a year, while earning a HealthGrades recognition with five-star ratings for
- pulmonary and stroke care;
- WHEREAS, Jon Bruss has retired as the president of Advocate Trinity Hospital, where
- he has served for the last 7 years although serving the hospital for an honorable thirty-
- seven year career in leadership positions spanning from Admitting Manager to Vice
- President to President;
- WHEREAS, under Jon Bruss's leadership, Trinity has seen dramatic operational
- improvements as evidenced by double digit increases in health outcomes, associate
- satisfaction, physician satisfaction, patient satisfaction, and philanthropy;
- WHEREAS, Jon spearheaded the improvement of Trinity's financial performance that
- has resulted in a more than $ 12 million dollar improvement compared to baseline;
- WHEREAS, through his strategic requests, Advocate Health Care has invested more
- than 80 million dollars to provide more advanced clinical services and facility upgrades
- at Trinity; and
- WHEREAS, Jon has been an inspirational model of Advocate'^^£p^lu^.|)^

- Trinity Hospital associates and three hundred medical staff members. ,,

- NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Mayor and Members ofthe City
- Council ofthe City of Chicago, assembled this fifth day of March 2014, do hereby
- applaud Mr. Jon Bruss for over 35 years of service to this outstanding hospital.
