Title: Tribute to late Mary Elizabeth Hunt

Memorial Resolution
WHEREAS, God, in His infinite wisdom and judgment, has called His child Mary Elizabeth Hunt to her eternal reward on September 24, 2014; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed body has been notified of Mary Hunt's transition by the Honorable Alderman Anthony Beale, of the 9th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on April 28, 1922, the first of five children born to the late Mirk and Cora Stroud Folsome, Mary moved to Chicago from her hometown of Farrell, Pennsylvania after graduating from Farrell High School and getting training in both music and business from a local college; and
WHEREAS, Mary Hunt was united in holy matrimony to Don Thurman, who preceded her in death, but not before their union produced two amazing daughters, Donna C. Lawrence, and Paige "Chico" Summers. She later wed Charles Hunt, who also preceded her in death; and
WHEREAS, Mary Hunt worked diligently as an executive secretary with Encyclopedia Britannica in Chicago, and in the spring of 1980 founded Audi Answering Service, which made her the leader of a business that provided excellent service, as well as training for employees that would become like members of her family; and
WHEREAS, Mary Hunt was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers, Juanita Folsome, Timothy Folsome, Thelma Catto, and Harold Folsome; and is survived by her daughters Donna Lawrence and Paige "Chico" Summers; her nieces Geraldine Catto and Loretta Lopez; her great-niece and nephew Ta-Tanisha Crumble and Jamal Crumble; great-great-niece and nephews Imani Crumble, Jamal Crumble, Jr., and Taylor Collins-Crumble; a host of cousins including Rhonda, Brenda, Joette, Guy Gibbs, Portia Gibbs Shepard, and Cardella Gibbs; along with her amazing church family and dear friends including staff at Audi Answering Service: Meghan Brownlee, Tawana Love, Roxanne Rogers, Lynn Reynolds, and Donna Lawrence; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this fifth day of November, 2014, do hereby express our sorrow on the passing of Mary Elizabeth Hunt and extend to her family and friends our sincere condolences; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the family of Mary Elizabeth Hunt.
