CELEBRATING THE LIFE OF A REMARKABLE MAN GEORGE "JEROME" JOHNSON JR.
WHEREAS, on Saturday, February 4,2023, George "Jerome" Johnson Jr., was called home by the Great I AM on a date we least expected. "Come for I have prepared a place specifically for thee, a mansion the size of a great nation where every wall is deeply engraved with the names of your favorite sports teams and positive quotes to encourage you on your hew journey. As you enter into your new home there you will find spotless floors lined in gold which resent hies my never-ending love for you since the inception in your mother's womb." Immediately, tears began to stream from the eyes of George Jerome" Johnson Jr., as his soul connected with God. The Angels and his mom, Lula Mae who preceded him in death stood by Heaven's Gate shouting with an exuberant voice, "Glory to God —Jerome is Coining Home\"
WHEREAS, the scripture states: The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delights in his way. Though he fall, he shall not be utterly cast down: For the Lord upholds him With his hand" {Psalms 37: 23-24) we all know the author (David) of the Book of Psalms was not a perfect man yet he was still considered a man after God's own heart; The very same applies to George "Jerome" Johnson Jr., for he had a relationship with the Father, Jesus Christ. He was created in the likeness and the image, of the Lord. He was;a gentle soul filled with laughter and sometimes tears. He was strong man who remained steadfast, unshakable and immovable in his beliefs. He knew the voice of his Heavenly Father. God counted him as a faithful son to his parents: George Henry Johnson Sr., and Lula Mae Johnson, who preceded him. in death and God chose to protect Jerome every step of his way; and
WHEREAS, as we reflect on the awesomeness and wonderful memories of George "Jerome" Johnson Jr. I will say, his ability to speak his mind in eveiy circumstance showed that he was the type of man who was secure in himself and wanted the very best for his children, grandchildren and all of his loved ones and friends; and
WHEREAS, on this day, let us stand united and salute towards Heaven as we.say our final good-bye to my longtime constituent George "Jerome Johnson Jr, your beloved relative and friend. May these moments challenge us to always seek love above hate, reconciliation above unforgiveness and peace above chaos as God would desire from all of us; and
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that, the Mayor and the members of City Council will gather together on the 15th Day of March, 2023 A.D., and hereby express their sincere condolences to his loving daughters: Waunda Faye (Kareem Sr.) Thomas, Ro'Chai Marie Johnson: George Jaylen Johnson III; two grandsons: Kareem James Thomas Jr., Shonta Gregory Lee; two granddaughters: Tia' Briona Thomas (Roland) Jones,. Ja'Niece Embria Thomas; two great granddaughters: Kamiya Faye Thomas, Marixa; Faye Thomas; two sisters; Linda (Oskar) Moore, Belyinda Johnson; one brother: Grailen Johnson Sr; three nieces: Wrunda (DeShaun Sr.) Bates, Sheeria Johnson, Tatiana Moore; two nephews: Grailen Johnson Jr., Oskar (Jessica)
Moore Jr.; very special aunts, uncles, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and a^host of neighbors and close friends; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this resolution was prepared by 21st Ward Alderman Howard B. Brookins, Jr., and a more suitable copy will be presented to the family of Ms. Belyinda Johnson at a later date.
