RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Gabriel Patrick Caponera Srhas been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 87 to his eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Gabriel "Patty" Caponera Sr., lifelong resident of South Side of Chicago, Canaryville neighborhood. Beloved husband of the late Elizabeth "Betty" Caponera nee (Burns); loving father of Regina (Jeff) Mantlo, Christina (Jim Sr.) Babuskow, Gabriel Jr. (Maureen), Mary Kay (Jack) Mangan, Michelle (Jim) Goga, Joseph CFD (Kathleen), Robert CPD (late Yolanda), Elizabeth (Gary) Arredia, Toni Caponera, and the late Maria Caponera; devoted son of the late John and Orie Caponera nee Scalzitti and son-in-law of the late Mary and John Burns, dearest brother of Harold Retired CFD (late Jeanette) Caponera; dearest brother-in-law and friend of Jack and Dotty burns; cherished grandfather of Maria (Pat) McCarthy, Jeffrey, Joe (Colleen), John, Gabriella, and Mark Mantlo, Mary Chris, Jim Jr. and Robby Babuskow, the late Gabriel Robert Caponera, Kevin (Meghan) and Matt Caponera Joanna, Julianne (Matt), Mulheron, Elizabeth and Jack Mangan, Angela (Eddie) Tremore and Monica Goga, Gianna, Maria and Ellie Caponera, Teresa, Dominic, and Anna Caponera, Vince, Anthony and Giavanna Arredia, John and Natalie Clemens; great-grandfather of Patrick, Caroline and Anthony McCarthy, Olivia Fernandez, Ben Adcock, Mikayla, Grace, and Jenna Caponera, Gabriel William and Giuliana Caponera, Ava and Joella Mantlo, Isabelle Schultz, Matthew Mulheron, Rowan and Jude Tremore. Fond uncle of many nieces and nephews; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Gabriel to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here this fifteenth of December 2021, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Gabriel Patrick Caponera and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Gabriel Patrick Caponera.
