Dear Alderman Allen,
In accordance with the Chicago Municipal Sign Code 13-20-680, it is required that signs exceeding 100 square feet in area of one face or ground sign, structure or signboard over 24 feet in height is to be introduced to the City Council members and referred from there to the Committee of Buildings to be entered as an ordinance.
We are requesting your review and approval of signage for the above location. Also, we request that you to introduce this plan to the City Council for the issuance of an ordinance.
Our client, Midas, is replacing the existing signboard for its pylon sign at 4216 W. Irving Park Road. The proposed sign is 19'-8 Vi" x 15'-0". This sign exceeds the 100 square feet in area rule; therefore, it will require a request for a council order. This sign is 295 square feet. The height from grade to top of the sign is 48'feet.
As the Alderman for Chicago's 38th Ward, and if this sign meets your approval, would you please introduce the sign to the City Council and the Committee on Buildings so that we may proceed with zoning and electrical permits. Your signature is required at the bottom of the attached ordinance sheets.
