RESOLUTION FOR HARVEY L. ROLLERSON, JR.


WHEREAS, God in His Infinite Wisdom has called Harvey L. Rollerson, Jr., most beloved citizen, to his eternal reward on October 9th, 2018, and

WHEREAS, This body has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Willie B. Cochran, Alderman of the 20th Ward and Vice-Chairman of the Committee on Public Safety ; and

WHEREAS, He was born on March 15'V1927 in Muskogee, Oklahoma, Harvey L. Rollerson, Jr. was a devoted son of Harvey and Cora Rollerson, who both preceded him in death. He was the 2nd born of 4 siblings and received his education at Phillips High School in Chicago and received his Masters from Northeastern Illinois University.

WHEREAS, Harvey L. Rollerson, Jr., met the love of his life, Doris (Shelton),whom he married October 17,1954 and adored more than 63 years. They were, blessed with four children (3 sons and 1 daughter). Harvey was a nurturing, caring and doting father with strong morals, believing that family fellowship was as important as education is essential; and

WHEREAS, Harvey accepted Christ at an early age. He trusted in the.Lord and was a faithful member displaying his Christian duties and love for his Savior. He shepherded his children through dedicated service to their church and being a faithful servant of God. Harvey leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and

WHEREAS, Harvey leaves to cherish his memory; his children, Harvey Lamont; Derrick Stephen; Anya Lynn Newsome; and Kenneth Nathan; two sisters, Ada Ruth Willowby and Yvonne Abatso; along, with a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and treasured friends, and all who had the pleasure of knowing and being known by him; and

WHEREAS, Harvey touched many lives through his loving kindness, generosity and wonderful spirit. He will be deeply missed, but the remembrance of his. genuine character, vast intelligence and deep compassion will live on in those who. knew and loved him; now, therefore
