CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO JAE KWAN HA ON HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE CENTER
FOR SENIORS.

WHEREAS, Jae Kwan Ha has retired from the Center for Seniors on December 31, 2017, following more than twenty five years of dedicated service; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this special occasionby the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and

WHEREAS, In 1993, Jae Kwan Ha founded the Center for Seniors which is exclusively an adult day services (ADS) agency, serving frail and low-to-moderate income senior citizens in the Chicago metropolitan area; and

WHEREAS, For a quarter century, Jae Kwan Ha has proven himself to be a dedicated and faithful director who has contributed greatly to the efficiency and mission of the Center for Seniors. A valued leader and pillar at the Center for Seniors, Jae Kwan Ha has earned the respect and admiration from the Korean American community and is an inspiration to all who know him; and

WHEREAS, Prior to his founding of the Center for Seniors, Jae Kwan Ha worked in the Chicago Housing Authority for 17 years creating comfortable and socially engaging living environment for low-to-moderate income senior citizens and delivering culturally appropriate social services; and

WHEREAS, Twenty five years later, the Center operates adult day services at four locations: Kedzie Center in Chicago, Lincoln Center in Morton Grove, Green Center in Schaumburg and now the Joy Center in Wheeling. As a social worker who specializes in the aging, Mr. Ha states, "we do not choose to age, but we can choose the way in which we age; and

WHEREAS, Jae Kwan Ha's distinguished public service career could not have succeeded without the support, sacrifice and love of his wife and two daughters, who actively volunteer for the center, especially during its formative years with program development, proposal writing and legal affairs; now therefore
