WHEREAS, Larry L. Dotson, an outstanding public servant and member of his community, retires as an officer of the Chicago Police Department after twenty-six years of dedicated service to the people of this city; and
WHEREAS, Officer Dotson has received numerous awards for his exceptional service; he served with distinction and dedication in the 005th and 006th Districts. Field Training Officer Dotson was awarded three Department Commendations, fifty-six Honorable Mentions, Appearance award, and three Complimentary Letters. Field Training Officer Dotson also received the Cook County Sheriff Award of Valor, and the GF Ministries Award; and
WHEREAS, The police have the very essential job of ensuring the safety and order of their community. This sworn officer has an important role in protecting lives and property, maintaining order and enforcing all laws accurately; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Lona Lane, Alderman of the 18th Ward, has apprised this august body of Larry L. Dotson's significant milestone; now therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here in assembly this twelfth day of December, 2012 A.D., do hereby salute Larry L. Dotson for his many years of dedicated service to the safety of this city and extend our very best wishes for health, happiness, and success in any future endeavor.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Larry L. Dotson.
