RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Honorable Romie J. Palmer has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 93; and
WHEREAS, The Ghicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M.,,Burke; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Romie J. Palmer was a^widely admired member of the judicial communityand the loving husband of Ruth H., nee Hoffman, and the late Gladys M., nee Cartwright; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Romie J. Palmer was the much-adored father of Marsha, Lyle, Linnea^nd^he late Bruce, the stepfather of Harold, Cynthia and the late Donald,^the grandfather of seven and the great-grandfathervof one to whom he imparted many of the fine and .noble qualities .that-he possessed in abundance; and
WHEREAS, Acnative of-Pontotoc, Mississippi, the Honorable Romie ^.J. Palmer served his country in the United States Army during World War IT; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Romie J. Palmer earned his law degree from DePaul University College-of Law and enjoyed a lqng and illustrious career in public service; and

WHEREAS, The Honorable Romie J. Palmer was a-lawyer for the Industrial Division of the Blue Jsland Chamber of Commerce and a municipal, park district and township attorney; and
WHEREAS, The^'Honorable Romie J. Palmer ably served as a member of the Illinois House of'Representatives and as a Judge of the Circuit Court of Cook County; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable. Romie J. Palmer was a Past Chairman of the Burr Oak District of'-the Boy Scouts of America and was a founder of the Blue Cap School for the Mentally Retarded; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication", of the Honorable Romie J. Palmer serve as aniexample to all; and
WHEREAS, His loye^pf life and ability to live it torthe fullest endeared the Honorable Romie J.-"Palmer to his family members^ffiends and all who knew him, and enabled him~to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
