RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Hosted by Robert and Jennifer Groszek, on Thursday, July 9, 2015, the Music 4 All Garden Party Fundraiser will be held at the law office of Robert Groszek, located at 3601 N. Pulaski Rd., to benefit UpBeat Music & Arts, a 501c(3) organization that provides music education to children; and,
WHEREAS, UpBeat Music & Arts offers after-school classes, summer camps, and lessons for children ages 6-17. In addition to providing top-notch musical instruction, they provide students with a fun, interactive experience featuring quality music education in a safe and creative environment; and,
WHEREAS, UpBeat Music & Arts believe the benefits of learning an instrument reaches far beyond music. Under the supervision of Scott Barbeau,, keyboard player for the popular Chicago-based 80's cover band, Sixteen Candles, Scott, and the UpBeat Team help children achieve confidence, build self-esteem and feel connected to the larger arts community. Children participating enjoy group and individual piano and/or guitar instruction and learn about music performance, technique, ear training, theory, reading music, writing music, and much more; and,
WHEREAS, The Music 4 All Garden Party Honorary Host Committee members are as follows: Judge Jessica O'Brien, Sharon Martwick, Director of Institutional Giving at Goodman Theatre), Eugena Whitson-Own, President of Women's Bar of Illinois, Nicole Milos, Partner of Cremer Spina, Photographer Frank Styburski, and the Honorable Ariel E. Reboyras, Alderman of the 30th Ward; and,
WHEREAS, The featured pianist at the Garden Party is Marcus Choi, who is a jazz pianist, composer, arranger, and educator. Other great artists will include Abdel Morched and Jared Haberman; and now therefore,
