RESOLUTION
 
 
WHEREAS. James W. "'Jimmy'" Farrell has been called to eternal lite by the wisdom of God at the age of 91; and
 
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
 
WHEREAS, James W. "Jimmy" Farrell was the loving and devoted husband of the late Eleanor; and
 
WHEREAS, James W. "'Jimmy" Farrell was the much-adored father of Daniel, Timothy, Jay, and Erin to whom he imparted many ofthe fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and
 
WHEREAS, A native of Chicago's Canaryville neighborhood, James W. "Jimmy" Farrell was a proud veteran of World War II who worked for the Chicago Public Schools for twenty-five years: and
 
WHEREAS, From 1982 to 2008, James W. "Jimmy" Farrell was the umpire room attendant for Wrigley Field and became legendary for the warmth of his welcome, the high quality of his service and his outstanding commitment to excellence; and
 
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of James W. "Jimmy" Farrell serve as an example to all: and
 
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared James W. "Jimmy" Farrell to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
 
WHEREAS, To his beloved family. James W. "Jimmy" Farrell imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
 
BE IT RESOLVED, That we. the Mayor and the members ofthe Chicago City Council, assembled this seventeenth day of January, 2013, do hereby commemorate James W. "Jimmy" Farrell for his grace-filled life and do hereby express our condolences to his family; and
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy ofthis resolution be presented to the family of James W. "Jimmy" Farrell.
