AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS
AUTHORIZING THE NEGOTIATED SALE AND CONVEYANCE OF A CERTAIN CITY PARCEL TO JIH WEST, L.L.C.
WHEREAS, the City of Chicago ("City") is a home rule unit of government by virtue of the provisions of the Constitution of the State of Illinois of 1970, and as such, may exercise any power and perform any function pertaining to its government and affairs; and
WHEREAS, the City has established the Community Development Commission ("Commission") to, among other things, designate redevelopment areas and approve redevelopment plans, and recommend the sale of parcels located in redevelopment areas, subject to the approval of the City Council of the City of Chicago ("City Council"); and
WHEREAS, pursuant to an ordinance adopted by the City Council on April 22, 2009 and published at pages 58433 through 58465 in the Journal of such date, the City sold various parcels of City land to JIH West, L.L.C, an Illinois limited liability company (the "Developer") upon which the developer constructed an ice rink facility (the "Facility") at 2536-48 West Madison, Chicago, Illinois; and
WHEREAS, the City is the owner of one (1) 4 foot strip of vacant land totaling approximately 525 square feet located at 2550 West Madison, Chicago, Illinois adjacent to the Facility, which such 4 foot strip of vacant land is legally described on Exhibit A attached hereto (the "Property"); and
WHEREAS, the appraised market value of the Property is One Thousand and no/Dollars ($1,000); and
WHEREAS, the Developer has offered to purchase the Property for the fair market ap...
