MEMORIAL RESOLUTION HONORING DARNELL JAMES "LIL NELLY" WILLIAMS
WHEREAS, God in His infinite wisdom chose to bring his beloved son, Darnell James "Lil Nelly" Williams to his eternal reward in 2013; and
WHEREAS, Darnell James "Lil Nelly" Williams entered the world on May 19,1996, the cherished son of Tanika Williams and Darnell Mitchell; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Williams was a dutiful employee at Phalanx Family Service, WCDT and Heavenly Angel's Funeral Service; and
WHEREAS, Mr. Williams leaves many dear family and friends behind to celebrate his life and memory: his parents, Tanika Williams and Darnell Mitchell (Shirl), five sisters: Saten, Martesha, Angel, Lovely and Heaven; two brothers, Darius and Eric; two grandfathers, James Williams and James Gully; one grandmother, Vanessa; one great-grandmother, Earlean, four aunts: Veronica, Lashawnda, Latoya and Meka; two uncles, James and Marcus, one niece, Nevaeh (Uncle Baby), Godma, Sebrina and a special friend, Christianna, and a host of cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his grandmother Dorothy Mitchell; great grandparents, Willie and Alice Williams; and great uncles, Rob and Zack; and
WHEREAS, This august body has been notified of Darnell James "Lil Nelly" Williams' transition by the esteemed Alderman ofthe 9th Ward, Anthony A. Beale; and
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered together this 5th day of February, 2014 A.D., do hereby express our sorrow at the passing of Darnell James "Lil Nelly" Williams and extend our deepest condolences to members of his family and the many persons whose lives he touched.
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the family of Darnell James "Lil Nelly" Williams.
