RESOLUTION


WHEREAS, Thomas H. Boggs, Jr., has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 73; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

WHEREAS, A resident of Chevy Chase, Maryland, Thomas H. Boggs, Jr., was a prominent Washington lobbyist and the loving husband of Barbara; and_

WHEREAS, Thomas H. Boggs, Jr., was the much-adored father of Hale, Elizabeth and Douglas and the beloved grandfather of eight to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and

WHEREAS, Thomas H. Boggs, Jr., was the dear brother of Cokie Roberts and the late Barbara Sigmund; and

WHEREAS, The scion of a politically powerful family, Thomas H. Boggs, Jr., was the son of House Majority leader Thomas Boggs and his wife, Lindy, who succeeded him as a member of Congress from the State of Louisiana; and

WHEREAS, Thomas H. Boggs, Jr., helped to transform the law firm now known as Squire Patton Boggs into one of the most influential lobbying firms in the nation; and

WHEREAS, The combined success of Thomas H. Boggs, Jr., as both a fundraiser and lobbyist made him a forceful presence on Capitol Hill; and

WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Thomas H. Boggs, Jr., serve as an example to all; and

WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Thomas H. Boggs, Jr., to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and

WHEREAS, Thomas H. Boggs, Jr., was an individual of great integrity and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and

WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Thomas H. Boggs, Jr., imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
