RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Catherine Kiszkan celebrated her 90 birthday on November 19, 2014, and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of this prestigious occasion by the Honorable Marty Quinn Alderman ofthe 13th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Catherine, an enthusiastic, active, much loved resident of Chicago's great 13th Ward community with a zest for living life, celebrated her 90th birthday on November 19, 2014, thereby reaching a milestone few are fortunate to achieve; and
WHEREAS, Cherished daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, a friend of many and good neighbor to all, Catherine richly deserves the warm and fond wishes of her family members and friends as she marks her 90th birthday; and
WHEREAS, Born and raised in the City of Chicago, Catherine lived with her family in the Little Italy neighborhood until she moved to Clearing in the late 1950's. Recently, Catherine was recognized for decades of community service in the Clearing community by receiving the Golden Spirit Award presented by Alderman Marty Quinn and Attorney General Lisa Madigan; and
WHEREAS, Catherine is involved in numerous veterans organizations, including Italian American War Veterans, Italian Police Association, and Des Plaines Valley VFW Post 6863 in Summit and around election time she is busy serving as an election judge at Grimes School which she has done for decades; and
WHEREAS, Cognizant ofthe history to which Catherine Kiszkan has both witnessed and contributed, the Chicago City Council believes that Catherine is deserving of the adulation and good wishes she is offered as she celebrates her ninetieth year; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this twenty first day of January 2015, do hereby extend the happiest of birthday wishes to Catherine Kiszkan; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Catherine Kiszkan.
