A RESOLUTION RECOGNIZING THE 43*° PASTORAL ANNIVERSARY OF

PASTOR T. L. BARRETT, JR.

PRESENTED BY: ALDERMAN WILLIE B. COCHRAN

WHEREAS, in March 1968, T.L. Barrett, Jr. was called to Pastor at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Chicago Illinois; and

WHEREAS, in 1976, Pastor Barrett organized The Life Center Church in Chicago, Illinois; and

WHEREAS, in 1983, Pastor Barrett constructed the "Prayer Palace" located at 5500 S. Indiana Avenue in Chicago's 20^th Ward; and

WHEREAS, the entire congregation of The Life Center C.O.G.I.C., and religious and community leaders from throughout our city, state and nation have joined in honoring Pastor T. L. Barrett. Jr. on the occasion of his 43^,d Anniversary Celebration; and

WHEREAS, the theme of Pastor Barrett's 43^rd Anniversary Celebration, "Diminishing TEARS! Banishing FEARS!", is exemplary of his mission and message; and

WHEREAS, countless individuals and families have been uplifted by the work of Pastor T. L. Barrett, Jr. throughout his 43 years of service dedicated to preaching, teaching and reaching community members; and

WHEREAS, Pastor T. L. Barrett, Jr. is a pillar of not only the 20^th Ward but the entire City of Chicago;

BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Mayor and members of the Chicago City Council, extend both congratulations and gratitude to Pastor T. L. Barrett, Jr. for 43 years of commitment to the community; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the Pastor T. L. Barrett, Jr. and his family.
