MEMORIAL RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the September 6, 2013 death of Martha J. Janezic, at the age of ninety-four; and

WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39^th Ward; and

WHEREAS, Born on July 8, 1919, Martha was an active and vital member of her community. The beloved wife of the late John; loving mother of the late John H. (Celeste Kucharczyk) Janezic; dear grandmother of Mary Jo (Dr. Tim Lestingi) and John "Jack" (Lisa) Janezic; treasured great-grandmother of Andrew, John, Jacob, Katherine and Anna; cherished aunt and great-aunt of many, Martha leaves a legacy of faith, compassion, dignity and love; and

WHEREAS, Martha will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her; now, therefore,

Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this sixteenth day of October 2013, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Martha J. Janezic and express to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and

Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Martha J. Janezic as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
