Resolution
Whereas, Ronald E. Schwartz departed this present life on February 29, 2016; and
Whereas, The City Council has been notified of his passing by The Honorable Harry Osterman, Alderman of the 48th Ward; and
Whereas, Ronald E. Schwartz spent the majority of his career as a coach and athletic director, and for the last seven years led and transformed the athletic program of the Sacred Heart Schools in Chicago's Edgewater community; and
Whereas, He always lived up to his motto, Do What's Best for the Kids .All the Time, and took great pride in his recruitment and mentorship of new coaches; and
Whereas, While at Sacred Heart, Ronald E. Schwartz reached out beyond the school to coordinate hundreds of teams across numerous Catholic School and City leagues; and
Whereas, He also was a wonderful friend to many and a dedicated volunteer who supported the local police community. Now, therefore,
Be it resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this day of March 16, 2016, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Ronald E. Schwartz and extend to his colleagues and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be it further resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented in his memory to his colleagues at the Sacred Heart Schools.
