MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR EUNICE ELIZABETH MCKINLEY ANDERSON WILLIAMS

WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that the members of this Chamber learned of the untimely departure of Eunice Elizabeth "Liz" McKinley Anderson Williams on October 4, 2016; and
WHEREAS, This esteemed body has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Emma Mitts, Alderman of the 37* Ward; and
WHEREAS, Eunice Elizabeth McKinley Anderson Williams was born to the late James and Eva McKinley in Wayne County, North Carolina on November 24, 1931. She was one of twelve children; and

WHEREAS, Liz attended Wayne County and Goldsboro Public Schools, receiving her high school diploma from Dillard High School; and

WHEREAS, Liz married the late George Lee Anderson, together the couple had five children. She later found love again, marrying the late Surrey Williams, Jr. in Upper Marlboro, Maryland; and

WHEREAS, She spent over 30 years working as a Unit Secretary and Nurses' Assistant at the Freedmen's Hospital, a teaching hospital for die Howard University Medical School, originally established to aid in the medical treatment of former slaves; and

WHEREAS, Liz attended the Central Baptist Church of Camp Springs, Maryland. She loved the fellowship and deeply and appreciated the teachings of the late Reverend John H. Parker and the present Pastor, Reverend Lincoln M. Burruss, Jr.; and
WHEREAS, Liz leaves to cherish her memory her children, Eugene Anderson, Patricia Stadaker, Bobby (Cassandra) Anderson, Judy Anderson, and Gloria (Michael) McKay; six grandchildren, Vianca (Ronald) Walker, George (Zenitta) Anderson, Sr., Randy (Joyce) Anderson, LaShonda Smith, Bobby (Pamela) Anderson, Jr., Joshua (Jordan) Anderson; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-grandchild; siblings, Geneva Flowers, Robert (Velma) McKinley, Mildred (Eugene) Parks, Carlton (Julia) McKinley, Jessie (Burnette) McKinley, and Clifton (Lucinda) McKinley; and a host of family and friends; and
