CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDING IMPERIAL LIGHTING MAINTENACE COMPANY
ON ITS 40th ANNIVERSARY
WHEREAS, Leon Mendelsohn, the founder of Imperial Lighting Maintenance Company is celebrating his 40th year anniversary ofthe company he started in 1973;
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of this anniversary by Alderman Margaret Laurino, 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Since the company moved to the 39th Ward thirty years ago it has employed hundreds of hard working lighting technicians in Chicago and helped shape the lighting industry nationwide; and
WHEREAS, not only has Leon Mendelsohn been an inspiration to his family, but he is a pioneer in the energy lighting industry with over 1,000,000 lighting fixtures upgraded throughout the city, Imperial Lighting has significantly reduced the energy consumption in Chicago. His philosophy of applying the latest technologies, installed by the skilled labor force of IBEW Local 134 technicians, is something customers have been relying on for decades; and
WHEREAS, Leon recently turned 90 years old and still works every day leading Imperial Lighting into the next phase of its growth. He continues to share decades of experience with his company and its employees; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City of Chicago City Council, assembled here this 11 Day of September, 2013, do hereby congratulate Leon Mendelsohn and Imperial Lighting Maintenance Company as it celebrates its 40th Anniversary, and express our best wishes for outstanding continued success for decades to come; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Leon Mendelsohn.
