RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Almighty God in His Infinite Wisdom has granted eternal peace to Trevor Malone Jacox, outstanding citizen, on May 1, 2016; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Toni Foulkes, Alderman of the 16th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on January 30, 1957 in Dyersburg, Tennessee, Trevor was the loving and devoted son of Margaret and (the late)Tommy C. Jacox. His parents instilled strong morals and values throughout his life; and
WHEREAS, Trevor attended and graduated from William R. Harper High School. His career began as a Union Painter for the Chicago Housing Authority and he later retired from UBM; and
WHEREAS, Trevor lived and loved life to the fullest. Known to be a jokester and prankster, it gave him pleasure to put a smile on people's faces and relished their laughter. He believed in "telling it like it is" and was not shy with voicing his opinion, still he was the life of the party; and
WHEREAS, Trevor, affectionately nicknamed "Slab", crowned himself "Barbeque King" for having the best tasting ribs. He told some of the best stories while over the grill as well as engaging in debates with his children, siblings or friends; and
WHEREAS, Symbolic of the strength and solidity of family life, Trevor was a devoted husband and loving father. He touched the lives of all who knew him through his infectious smile, hearty laugh, soaring wit and gentle spirit; and
WHEREAS, Trevor leaves to love, cherish and honor his memory; his adoring wife, Cynthia; children, Tameka, Trevor, Shiney, Chris; stepdaughter, Cynethia; his mother, Margaret; grandchildren, Ahqura, Trevor, Ariel, Laticia, Tristen, Torrence, Trenton, Christopher Jr., Christian, Caden, Acelynn and Blase; sisters, Rubrena, Marsha, Felicia, Jeanette, Ronda, Tamika; brothers, Tommy, Alfonso and Timothy; mother of his children and dear friend, Gwen and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends; and
