MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR ROBERT J. FORTINO, JR.
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that the members of this chamber learned of the death of Robert J. Fortino, Jr.; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman ofthe 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Bob, born on May 22, 1956, to Theresa (nee Riggio) and Robert J. Fortino, Sr., leaves to cherish his memory: his loving wife of 33 years, Mary (nee Obal); their two children, Christine (Anthony Massey) Fortino and Carmen (Alberto Martinez) Fortino; his adoring grandchildren Jace, Nori, Paige and Alynah; his loving sisters Kathleen (James) Schipma and April Warner; extended family and treasured friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him; and
WHEREAS, Bob was a lifelong resident of the City of Chicago and had achieved more than 30 years of service as a Custodian for Chicago Public Schools; and
WHEREAS, Bob touched the lives of all who knew him through his kindness, generosity, and warm spirit. He will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and Members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, assembled this twelfth day of December, 2018, do hereby extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of Robert J. Fortino, Jr.; and
