2021 OCT 2

Hon. Anna M. Valencia

City Clerk

121 N. LaSalle St.

Chicago, IL 60611

Dear Clerk Valencia:

At today's City Council meeting, Alderman Raymond Lopez made a motion to suspend the rules to allow for the consideration of a motion to re-refer several items from the Rules Committee to their originally intended committee. Included in these items, was Ordinance 02021-4831, regarding City Council approval for discipline and no-pay status for City employees. At the time this vote was taken, we believed we were voting on a different matter and voted no, when in fact our intention was to support suspending the rules to allow this ordinance, which we both co-sponsor and strongly support, to be properly referred to the Committee on Workforce Development.

We request that this be recorded in the record as such. Please include this letter as part of the official record that we intended to vote "yes" on this motion.

Sincerely,

Matthew J. O'Shea Alderman, 19th Ward

Felix Cardona, Jr. Alderman, 31st Ward
