City Council February 24th, 2021
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, John M. Murphy has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 55 to his eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11th Ward; and ,
WHEREAS, John M. Murphy, devoted son of the late Mary E. McPhillips Murphy and the late William J. "Bud" Murphy, Sr.; loving brother of James (Mary) Murphy, CPD-retired, Barbara (late Jack) Tagler, William J. Murphy, Jr. (late), U.S. Army-Vietnam War KWS, Daniel Murphy (late), Margaret (Raymond) Setina, Eileen (William, OEMC-retired) McManus, and Patricia "Birdie" (Gerard) Bumba; devoted uncle of 17; great uncle of 18; and
WHEREAS, John was a lifelong resident of the South Side of Chicago-Canaryville neighborhood; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared John to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this twenty fourth of February 2021, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of John M. Murphy and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of John M. Murphy.
