AMENDED ORDINANCE
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:
SECTION 1. Section 4-60-023 of the Municipal Code of Chicago is hereby amended by deleting the language struck through, as follows:
4-60-023 Restrictions on additional licenses.
Subject to the provisions of subsection 4-60-021 (c), no additional license shall be issued for the sale of alcoholic liquor, for consumption on the premises within the following areas:

(27.393) On Halsted Street, from Lake Street to Hubbard Street; and on Couch Placo and on Walnut Place, both from Halsted Street to the John F. Kennedy Expressway (I-90).
(Omitted text is unaffected by this ordinance) SECTION 2. This ordinance shall be in force and effect upon passage and approval.

Your Committee on License and Consumer Protection, having under consideration an ordinance introduced by Alderman Walter Burnett, Jr. (which was referred on February 10, 2016), to amend the Municipal Code of Chicago lifting subsection 4-60-023 (27.393) to allow the issuance of additional packaged goods licenses on portion of Halsted Street, begs leave to recommend that Your Honorable Body pass the ordinance which is transmitted herewith as amended.
This recommendation was concurred in by a viva voce vote of the members of the committee on March 8, 2016.
