ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, on January 1, 2006 pursuant to the procedures set forth in the Municipal Code of Chicago (the "Municipal Code"). §§ 2-120-130 through -690. The Commission on Chicago Landmarks (the "Commission") has determined that the East Village District, consisting of buildings located generally on the 800 block of North Hermitage Avenue; the 1000 blocks of North Wood and North Honore Streets; 800, 1000 and 1100 blocks of North Wolcott and North Winchester Avenues and adjacent properties on West Augusta Boulevard, North Damen Avenue and North Thomas Street, meeting criteria for landmark designation as set forth in§ 2-120620 (1), (4) and (7) of the Municipal Code which was published in the Council Journal of Proceedings for that date at pages 67944 through 68021 (enacted text at page 67946); and
WHEREAS, on January 1, 2006 the City Council passed an ordinance designating the East Village District as a Chicago Landmark; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary and advisable to further amend the ordinance regarding the East Village District as a Chicago Landmark; now, therefore,
Be It Ordained by the City Council of the City of Chicago:
PARAGRAPH 4 on page 67946 is hereby amended by deleting the struck-through text:
"The District is a distinctive cross-section of worker cottages, single-family houses, small flat buildings, small apartment buildings, and small-scale commercial buildings built between 1883 and the 1920s.
and inserting the underscored text as follows:
"The District is a distinctive cross-section of worker cottages, single-family houses, small flat buildings, small apartment buildings, and small-scale commercial buildings built between 1883 and the 1930s..."
and adding Exhibit C which reads as follows:
