MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR KEENAN JAMAAR BLANKS
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that the members of this Chamber learned of the departure of Mr. Keenan Jamaar Blanks at the age of 24 on October 11, 2016; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago Qty Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Emma Mitts, Alderman of the 37th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Keenan was born on December 19, 1991, in Chicago, Illinois, to proud parents Jeffery and Delphine Blanks; and
WHEREAS, Keenan attended Roberto Qemente High School, he went on to attend Wilbur Wright College where he studied Communications; and
WHEREAS, Keenan was a great composer and lyricist. He began recording his music and later created wonderful music videos; and
WHEREAS, Keenan leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Jeffery and Delphine Blanks; son, Karion Blanks; brothers, LeAndre (LeShawn) Burnette and Jeffery Blanks; sister, Paris Blanks; nieces, Dasia, Destiny, and Desiree Burnett and Jayla Thomas; nephews, Jalen Thomas and Akeem Gooden Jr., along with a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his sister, Ms. Drena Thomas; and
WHEREAS, Keenan touched the lives of all who knew him through his love for music. He will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the.Mayor and Members of the Qty Council of the Qty of Chicago, assembled this first day of November, 2016, do hereby extend pur heartfelt condolences to the family of Mr. Keenan Jamaar Blanks.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That suitable copies of this resolution are presented to the family of Mr. Keenan Jamaar Blanks as a sign of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
