CONGRATULATIONS EXTENDED TO SAMUAL J. DACANAY ON EARNING
THE RANK OF EAGLE SCOUT
WHEREAS, Eagle Scout Samual J. Dacanay of St. Jane deChantal Boy Scout Troop 671 has passed his Eagle Scout Board of Review, earning him scouting's highest achievement ofthe rank of Eagle Scout; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of this special occasion by The Honorable Michael Zalewski, Alderman ofthe 23th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Attaining the rank of Eagle Scout is achieved by only two percent of young men who enroll in the scouting program. To become an Eagle Scout, a Scout must earn twenty-one merit badges in addition to completing several community service projects; and
WHEREAS, Samual has demonstrated hard work and dedication not only in his pursuit of the rank of Eagle Scout, but also in his studies as a junior at Fenwick High School, and will be recognized for his accomplishments on November 2nd, at St. James Ward Hall; and
WHEREAS, after completing all requirements and examination by an Eagle Scout Board of Review, Samual has certified his worthiness for Scouting's highest distinction and now joins the ranks of many successful and influential Eagle Scouts; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this fifth day of November 2014, do hereby extend our heartiest congratulations to Samual J. Dacanay on attaining the rank of Eagle Scout and wish him every success in any and all of his future endeavors; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Samual J. Dacanay.
