ORDINANCE
WHEREAS, Cindy Proyer was born April 21, 1947, and was a long-time resident of Hermitage Avenue; and
WHEREAS, Cindy Proyer passed away this past August 8, 2021; and
WHEREAS, Cindy was the colorful gatekeeper of the neighborhood, greeting people passing by her house and bringing people in the neighborhood together; and
WHEREAS, Cindy was a generous and kind-hearted soul who helped many on her street and beyond, and touched many of her neighbors deeply throughout the years, and who epitomized the "good neighbor" and will be sorely missed; now therefore:
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY OF CHICAGO:
SECTION 1. Pursuant to an ordinance heretofore passed by the City Council which allows erection of honorary street-name signs, the Commissioner of Transportation shall take the necessary action for standardization of the 6100 block of North Hermitage Ave, from W Glenlake Ave running north to W Granville Ave, as "Cindy Proyer Way".
