GILDA'S CLUB CHICAGO 20^th ANNIVERSARY RESOLUTION

Whereas, The City of Chicago has been home to Gilda's Club Chicago - a free cancer support community for men, women, teens and children whose lives have been impacted by cancer -for 20 years; and

Whereas, Psychosocial support is an essential complement to medical care; and

Whereas, Gilda Radner left a rich legacy of humor, grace and appreciation for the quality of life one can experience after a cancer diagnosis; and

Whereas, Gilda's Club Chicago, as an affiliate of the Cancer Support Community, is a standard bearer of the mission to ensure that all people impacted by cancer are empowered by knowledge, strengthened by action and sustained by community; now, therefore

Now, Therefore, Be It Resolved, that we, the Mayor and members of the City of Chicago City Council, assembled this 17^th day of January, 2018 A.D., do hereby congratulate Gilda's Club Chicago for 20 years of providing cancer support to anyone whose life has been impacted by any type of cancer in the Chicagoland area; and

Be It Further Resolved, that a copy of this resolution can be presented at the 20^th Anniversary Celebration in recognition of the wonderful work this organization provides for the people of Chicago, so that no one faces cancer alone.
