Whereas, God in His infinite Wisdom has called Demetrius Griffin Jr., most beloved child of God to his eternal reward, September 17, 2016;

WHEREAS, This august body has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Emma Mitts, Alderman ofthe 37th Ward; and

Whereas, Demetrius born December 6, 2000 to the proud parents, Polynesia Skyles and Demetrius Griffin Sr.

Whereas, Demetrius graduated from Milton Bronson Elementary School June of 2016 and was currently a freshman at Steinmetz High School in Chicago.

Whereas, Demetrius was christened in September of 2001 and was baptized in 2007 at New Mount Pilgrim M.B. Church under the leadership of Rev. Dr. Marshall E. Hatch.

Whereas, Demetrius was energetic, inquisitive, joyful, a lover of dogs, motor bikes, basketball, swimming and was very handy with his hands.

Whereas, although Demetrius was only blessed with 15 short years on the earth, he touched heart of everyone he crossed paths with. His love is instilled in the hearts of many and his memory will live forever.

Whereas, he leaves to cherish those memories are his parents: Polynesia Sykes and Demetrius Griffin Sr.; His loving sisters Brea Melchor and Jemmica Wynn, Only brother Marcus Wynn, two nephews, Stanley Craig and Logan Melchor, two grandmothers Lida Sykes and Jeanette Griffin, two grandfathers James Little and L.Q. Griffin, two aunts Rochelle Sykes and Devora Griffin, a

special aunt Mary C. Goines, three uncles Demeko Griffin (Demetrius), Michael Foster, and Perry Tennon, seven very special cousins, Marvin Enoch, Derri Sykes, Lu Rush, Demeko Griffin Jr., Durell Swindle, Chemeko Smith, and Danika Griffin, and a host of other cousin relatives, and Friends.
