RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, Willie Lee Taylor, Sr., a most beloved citizen and friend, has been called to Eternal Life by the Wisdom of God, March 25, 2014 at the age of ninety-five; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Michelle A. Harris, Alderman of the 8lh Ward and Chairman of the Committee on Committees, Rules and Ethics; and

WHEREAS, Willie Lee Taylor, Sr., was the tenth child born to his loving parents, Deacon George D. Taylor and Sister Katie Taylor on May 14, 1918 in Yazoo City, Mississippi. Willie was a devout Christian and an active member of Christ Temple Cathedral Church serving as a Senior Usher Board Member, Sunday School Teacher, Church Bus Coordinator and Driver, Deacon Board Member, Breakfast Ministry, Church E ent Financial Collector, Church Owned Property Custodian and Consistent Attendee of the District, Diocese & National Conventions.; and

WHEREAS, Willie Lee Taylor, Sr. was united in holy matrimony to the former late Annie Mae Reese and to this blessed union of forty-seven years, seven children were born - four sons and three daughters; and

WHEREAS, In a lifetime filled with inspiration and strengthened by a solid religious foundation, Willie Lee Taylor, Sr. reached out and touched many lives; and

WHEREAS, Willie Lee Taylor, Sr. will be deeply remembered as a loving husband, father, brother, friend and neighbor. He leaves to celebrate his life and cherish his memory his son, Bomanti (Florida); three daughters, Beverly Williams (Christopher), Areta Mathis (Blair) and Marilyn; siblings, Dr. Jeremiah (Thelma), Thelma Hardy, Bertha Flowersf (Spencer) and John (Joneida); grandchildren, Melissa, Kimberly, Milton Jr. (Cassidy) Michael Jr., Sherri Wick (Kevin), David and Charnele; great grandchildren, Jaya Jenaye Taylor and Dominic Michael Wick; Ethelyn Taylor; Delores Lobbins; his extended family at Christ Temple Cathedral; the Staff at Arden Courts and a host of other relatives and many friends; now, t...
