RESOLUTION

A resolution calling for a public hearing regarding the disciplinary case against Officer Robert Bakker.

In order to better serve our residents and in an effort to honor transparency and due process, this resolution calls for the Committee on Public Safety to organize and execute a Public Hearing where committee members can hear from Chicago Police Department Superintendent Brown and Bureau of Internal Affairs Chief Talley about the 2020 investigation of officer Robert Bakker and the agencies' ultimate disciplinary course of action.

Further, we ask that Inspector General Witzburg and Civilian Office of Police Accountability Chief Administrator Kersten be present to provide further context.

We ask that this hearing be organized and take place no later than the next available Committee on Public Safety in January or February of 2023.
