RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Margaret "Peg" Gibbons has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 93 to her eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Gibbons, Margaret (Peg), (nee O'Neill), age 93, beloved wife ofthe late John to whom she was married to for 67 years. She dedicated her life to being an incredible and affectionate wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Devoted mother of Peggie (Mark) Vizza, Kevin (Kathy Flynn), Marie (James) Ryan, John (Carlette McMullan), Nancy, and Sally (Joseph) Milito. Loving grandmother of Brendan, James (Megan), and John Vizza, Sarah and Kevin Gibbons, Nora (Jonathan) Corley, Joseph Ryan, Michael and Patrick Milito, and Madeleine Gibbons. Proud great grandmother of Connall Vizza. Beloved daughter of the late James and Margaret (nee Kelly) O'Neill of Kiltimagh, County Mayo, Ireland. She was preceded in death by her siblings, the late Ted (the late Julie), the late Noreen (the late Tom) Kelly, the late James (the late Sophie), the late Jack (the late Lorraine), the late Geraldine (the late John), McCann, and the late Lauretta (the late Ed) Burke. Special sister-in-law of James (Gayle) Gibbons. Peg will be lovingly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She gave us all such love and hope as she taught us to be brave and gracious in faith; and
WHEREAS, Her love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Margaret to her family members, friends and all who knew her, and enabled her to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago gathered here this fifteenth of December 2021, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Margaret Gibbons and extend to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
