SUBSTITUTE ORDINANCE

 

BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF CHICAGO:

SECTION 1. The City Council finds that the areas described in Section 2 of this ordinance are adversely affected by the over-concentration of businesses licensed to sell alcoholic liquor within and near the areas.

SECTION 2. Section 4-60-022 of the Municipal Code of Chicago is hereby amended by inserting the underscored language as a new subsection 4-60-022 (45.11), as follows:

4-60-022       Restrictions on additional licenses.

 

Subject to the provisions of subsection 4-60-021 (c), no additional license shall be issued for the sale of alcoholic liquor, for consumption on the premises within the following areas:

(45.11)                     On Milwaukee Avenue, from Irving Park Road to Belle Plaine Avenue.

Your Committee on License and Consumer Protection, having under consideration a substitute ordinance introduced by Alderman John Arena (which was referred on December 14, 2016), to amend Section 4-60-022 of the Municipal Code of Chicago to disallow additional alcoholic liquor licenses on portion of Milwaukee Avenue, begs leave to recommend that Your Honorable Body pass the substitute ordinance which is transmitted herewith.

 

This recommendation was concurred in by a viva voce vote of the members of the committee on January 18, 2017.
