MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Kenneth Rogers, on January 4, 2016, at the age of sixty-four; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on January 5, 1951, Ken was the loving husband of Mary, nee Larkin; beloved father of Kayla and cherished stepfather of Fred (Mishalle) Ingram and Vanessa Pena, dear grandfather of Matthew, Julie and Kaitlyn Puirkowski; and treasured friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him. Ken leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, Ken was an active and vital member of his community. In addition to being a husband, father, stepfather and grandfather, Ken was a dedicated Precinct Captain with the 39th Ward Regular Democratic Organization. He touched the lives of all who knew him through his kindness, generosity and spirit. He will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him, now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and member of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this thirteenth day of January, 2016, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Kenneth Rogers and express to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
