RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, God in His infinite Wisdom has called Donna Sliwka to her eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of her passing by the Honorable Marty Quinn, Alderman of the 13th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Donna Marie Sliwka, 64, passed peacefully at home after a long fight with cancer with her family at her side. Donna was a long time employee of CPS where she touched the hearts of many students, teachers, and friends. Donna was known for her laughter and positive outlook on life. She was a fighter, and had a heart of gold and the strength no one could deny. She was the backbone of the family, the story teller to her grandchildren, and a friend to all. Beloved wife of Peter; loving mother of Steven (Lauren), Amy (David), Lisa (Chris) and Peter; cherished grandmother of Bella, Mya, Ava, GB, and Emerson; dearest sister of Edith (Jim), Virginia (Ken), George (Jan) and Gary (Nancy); fond sister in law of Kathleen and Mildred; also many loving cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Donna Sliwka leaves a legacy of faith, dignity, compassion and love; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the Chicago City Council gathered here this twenty-ninth day of July, 2015, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Donna Sliwka and extend to her family and friends our deepest sympathy.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to the family of Donna Sliwka.
