MEMORIAL RESOLUTION HONORING THE LIFE OF LEONARD R. MADDOX, SR.
WHEREAS, Leonard R. Maddox, Sr., loving husband and accomplished musician, passed away on November 20, 2022, at the age of 56; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of Leonard's passing by the Honorable Stephanie D. Coleman, Alderman ofthe 16th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Leonard was a gifted and accomplished musician, world renowned in the gospel music community; and
WHEREAS, Leonard produced numerous projects and supported many pastors and choirs, both throughout the City of Chicago and around the world; and
WHEREAS, Earlier this year, Leonard was honored with the Dr. Brenda Joyce Moore Award in recognition of 25 years of service to Ramon Perry and Ministries and Praise Chorale; and
WHEREAS, Leonard leaves to cherish his memory his wife Julia Porter Maddox and a host of family and friends who loved him; and
WHEREAS, Leonard was an enormous gift to the body of Christ, and will be missed by all those who knew and loved him; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this fourteenth day of December, 2022, do hereby extend our most heartfelt condolences to the family and friends of Leonard R. Maddox, Sr.; and
