RESOLUTION HONORING MRS. NANCY CULLINAN NASKO
WHEREAS, On October 25th, 2013 at a ceremony held in Washington, D.C., the National Association of Elementary School Principals presented Mrs. Nancy CuIIinan Nasko with their highest honor, the Distinguished Principal Award; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this prestigious occasion by the Honorable Daniel S. Solis, Alderman of the 25th Ward; and
WHEREAS, The National Distinguished Principals program honors outstanding elementary and middle-level administrators who ensure that America's children acquire a sound foundation for lifelong learning and achievement; and
WHEREAS, Among the 61 principals from across the country chosen to receive this award, just three are Catholic school principals; and
WHEREAS, In April of 2013, Mrs. Nasko received the National Catholic Educational Association's Distinguished Principal Award in Houston, Texas; and
WHERAS, For nearly three decades, Mrs. Nancy Cullinan Nasko has been serving the students, families and staff of St. Pius V School. Her dedication has shaped St. Pius V School into a high-performing institution, drawing students from across the city and suburbs; and
WHEREAS, The St. Pius V School Community feels blessed with a truly unique and dedicated principal, not only a vital member of the community but a mentor for young future leaders. She is a credit to her school, our city, and now the county; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council, assembled this fifteenth day of January, 2014 do hereby congratulate Mrs. Nancy Cullinan Nasko and wish her continued success and happiness; and
