MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR FRANCES OPPLIGER
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of Frances Oppliger on February 13, 2017 at the age of 87; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of her passing by The Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Born on January 1, 1930, Frances was the beloved wife of the late Russ; loving mother of Carol (Marty) Frenkel, Rita (Bill) Sattler and Diane (Matt Pimperl) Oppliger; cherished grandmother of Kelly (Scott) Buchman, Kevin (Maryann) McKevett, Kerry (Tom Keil) McKevett, Heather Sattler, Jody (Mike) Guidi and Bill (Amy Wettersten) Sattler; proud great-grandmother of 11; fond aunt of many nieces and nephews and a treasured friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing her. She leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, Frances was a long time member of St. Edward Parish. She touched the lives of all who knew her through her kindness, generosity and vivacious spirit. She will be deeply missed, but the memory of her character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved her; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and member of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this twenty-ninth day of March, 2017, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Frances M. Oppliger and express to her family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Frances M. Oppliger as a token of our honor, gratitude, and respect.
