RESOLUTION


WHEREAS, Frank Gesualdo has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 90; and

WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and

WHEREAS, Frank Gesualdo was a widely respected member of the business community and the loving husband for sixty-two years of Rita, nee O'Connor; and

WHEREAS, Frank Gesualdo was the much-adored father of Gina, Ralph, Gregory, Mark and the late Roxane and the grandfather of eleven to whom he imparted many of the fine and noble qualities that he possessed in abundance; and

WHEREAS, Frank Gesualdo was the dear brother of Edward; and

WHEREAS, The son of Italian immigrants, Frank Gesualdo was raised in Little Italy and he served his country in the United States Navy during World War II; and

WHEREAS, Frank Gesualdo survived 72 hours awaiting rescue at sea after the sinking of the USS Hornet by the Japanese during the Battle of the Santa Cruz Islands; and

WHEREAS, Following the war, Frank Gesualdo returned to Chicago where he began buying and repairing used cars from the corner of a Taylor Street gas station; and

WHEREAS, In 1968 Frank Gesualdo opened his first new car dealership at 105th Street and Michigan Avenue; and

WHEREAS, Over the years, Frank Gesualdo's business grew to become a large chain of car dealerships; and

WHEREAS, Frank Gesualdo also ran other automotive-related businesses, including a repossession business and a collection agency; and

WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Frank Gesualdo serve as an example to all; and

WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Frank Gesualdo to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and

WHEREAS, Frank Gesualdo will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and

WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Frank Gesualdo imparts a legacy of faithfulne...
