City Council February 24th, 2021
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Rudy Barrera has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of 59 to his eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Rudy Barrera, Beloved husband of Maria, nee Reyes; loving father of Nicholas and Nadia; devoted son of the late Carlos and Guadalupe Barrera; cherished brother of Carlos, Fernando (Lucy) and Patricia (Chris) Brekke; dearest uncle and friend of many; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Rudy to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this twenty fourth of February 2021, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Rudy Barrera and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Rudy Barrera.
