City Council February 24th, 2021
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Patrick J. Harney has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God to his eternal reward; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Patrick D. Thompson, Alderman of the 11th Ward; and
WHEREAS, Patrick J. Harney, Beloved Husband to Mary Jo. Doting Father to Jim and Lizzie. Caring Brother to Tim (Patricia), Kathy (Jack), Anne, Rowie (Doug) and Jim. Loving son of the late James P. Harney and Rosemary Eck Harney. Gracious brother-in law to John (Nancy), Joseph (Colleen), Janet (Jim), Uncle to many nieces and nephews; and
WHEREAS, Patrick dedicated his life to public service working for the city he loved; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Patrick to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago gathered here this twenty fourth of February 2021, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of Patrick J. Harney and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of Patrick J. Harney.
