MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It is with great sadness that members of this Chamber learned of the death of James P. O'Donnell, on December 20, 2013, at the age of 83; and
WHEREAS, James P. O'Donnell, a native of Pullathomas County, Mayo, Ireland, was born on December 20, 1930. He was the beloved husband of fifty years to Mary, nee O'Sullivan; devoted father of Mary (Charles) Fedor, James (Debra), John (Kathy), Charles (Shari) and Theresa (Todd) Nelson; proud grandfather of Patrick, Daniel, Courtney, Connor, Erin, Cameron, Jack, Caitlin, Madelyn, Charlie and Colin; loving uncle of many nieces and nephews; and, friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him.
WHEREAS, He was a loyal, hardworking and dedicated member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local 62, James leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, James O'Donnell will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character, intelligence and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,
Be It Resolved, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here this fifteenth day of January 2014, do hereby express our sorrow on the death of James P. O'Donnell and extend to his family and friends our deepest sympathy; and
Be It Further Resolved, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to the family of James P. O'Donnell.
