WHEREAS, Juan Morado, star number 65, an outstanding public servant and member of his community, retires as a Captain ofthe Chicago Police Department after twenty-nine years of dedicated service to the people of this city; and
WHEREAS, Juan served with distinction and dedication in the 006th District. During his career Captain Morado was awarded 103 Honorable Mentions, eight Complimentary Letters, four Department Commendations, three attendance Recognition Awards, one Life Saving Award, one Crime Reduction Ribbon (2004), one Presidential Election Deployment Award (2008), one Nato Summit Award, one Democratic National Convention Award, one Crime Reduction Award (2009), one Honorable Mention Ribbon Award, one Blue Star Award and one Other; and
WHEREAS, The police have the very essential job of ensuring the safety and order of their community. This sworn officer has an important role in protecting lives and property, maintaining order and enforcing all laws accurately; and
WHEREAS, The Honorable Lona Lane, Alderman ofthe 18th Ward, has apprised this august body of Juan Morado's significant milestone; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, gathered here in assembly this tenth day of December, 2014 A.D., do hereby salute Juan Morado for his many years of dedicated service to the safety of this city and extend our very best wishes for health, happiness, and success in all future endeavors.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be prepared and presented to Juan Morado.
