RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Sollie W. Vincent, Sr., has been called to eternal life by the wisdom of God at the age of eighty-three; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Sollie W. Vincent, Sr., was a retired member of the law enforcement community and a decorated military veteran; and
WHEREAS, The much-adored patriarch of his family, Sollie W. Vincent, Sr., was a devoted father, grandfather and great-grandfather; and
WHEREAS, Sollie W. Vincent, Sr., bravely served his country as a member of the United States Army during the Korean War and was a recipient of the Purple Heart; and
WHEREAS, Sollie W. Vincent, Sr., joined the Chicago Police Department where he served with honor and distinction for thirty-four years; and
WHEREAS, Throughout the course of his long and illustrious career, Sollie W. Vincent, Sr., upheld the finest and most noble traditions of the Chicago Police Department; and
WHEREAS, Sollie W. Vincent, Sr., rose to become the Commander of the Gang Crimes Division, a position he held from 1988 to 1991; and
WHEREAS, The hard work, sacrifice and dedication of Sollie W. Vincent, Sr., serve as an example to all; and
WHEREAS, His love of life and ability to live it to the fullest endeared Sollie W. Vincent, Sr., to his family members, friends and all who knew him, and enabled him to enrich their lives in ways they will never forget; and
WHEREAS, Sollie W. Vincent, Sr., was an individual of great integrity ' and accomplishment who will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by his many relatives, friends and admirers; and
WHEREAS, To his beloved family, Sollie W. Vincent, Sr., imparts a legacy of faithfulness, service and dignity; now, therefore
