MEMORIAL RESOLUTION FOR DAVID J. MANNING
WHEREAS, it is with great sadness that the members of this Chamber learned of the death of David J. Manning on February 14, 2019 at the age of 81; and
WHEREAS, the Chicago City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman of the 39th Ward; and
WHEREAS, David, born on January 23, 1938, led a full and accomplished life with his beloved wife, Carol, nee DeCoster, at his side. They were blessed with four beautiful children. David leaves a legacy of faith, dignity and love; and
WHEREAS, David leaves to cherish his memories; his adoring wife, Carole, loving children; Sheila (Christopher) Hansen, James (Mary Ann), Thomas (Kim) and David (Katie) Manning; cherished grandchildren, Matt, Brian and Joe Hansen and Tim, Tom, Jack, Harry, Kirby and Eleanor Manning, treasured sister Carol (the late Richard) Thompson; many nieces and nephews and a host of extended family and friends; and
WHEREAS, David touched the lives of all who knew him and through his unconditional love and vivacious spirit. He will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, that we, the Mayor and Members of the City Council of the City of Chicago, assembled this thirteenth day of March, 2019, do hereby extend our heartfelt condolences to the family of David J. Manning; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a suitable copy of this resolution will be presented to the family of David J. Manning as a sign of our sympathy and respect.
