MEMORIAL RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, It was with great sadness that members ol" this chamber learned ofthe death ol" Hamilton James McMaster on August 25. 2016; and
WHEREAS, The City Council has been informed of his passing by the Honorable Margaret Laurino, Alderman ofthe 39lh Ward; and
WHEREAS, Hamilton devoted his life to educating Chicago's youth. He worked for the Chicago Public Schools for thirty-five years, serving as teacher, principal and District 25 Field Superintendent; and
WHEREAS, Hamilton was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Margaret M Nelligan. Together, they were the loving parents of Maureen, Michael (Martha) and Kathleen McMaster, and devoted grandparents of six. He was also the beloved brother of Mary McGovern and the late John and Thomas McMaster; and
WHEREAS, Hamilton will be remembered as wise, kind and fair by his colleagues and companions; and
WHEREAS, In this time of grief, Hamilton's family celebrates his life and cherishes his memory, as do his fellow parishioners at the Queen of All Saints Parish; and
WHEREAS, Hamilton touched the lives of all who knew him through his generosity, unconditional love and his spirit. He will be deeply missed, but the memory of his character and compassion will live on in those who knew and loved him; now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and members ofthe City Council ofthe City of Chicago, gathered here this fifth day of October 2016, do hereby honor the life and memory of Hamilton James McMaster and extend to his family and many friends our sincere condolences.
