RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Peggy A Davis is preparing to complete her distinguished tenure as a valued member of the Chicago Board of Education; and
WHEREAS, The Chicago City Council has been informed of this event by Alderman Edward M. Burke; and
WHEREAS, Peggy A. Davis was appointed to the Chicago Board of Education in 2006 and served faithfully for nearly five years; and
WHEREAS, Peggy A. Davis currently serves as the Vice President of Diversity and Recruiting at the Exelon Business Services Corporation, and was a former partner in the government relations and labor and employment practices at Winston & Strawn LLP; and
WHEREAS, Peggy A. Davis has extensive experience in the public sector, having served as chief of staff to the Chicago Public Schools CEO, general counsel to the Metropolitan Pier and Exposition Authority, and attorney for the City of Chicago's Law Department and the Chicago office of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission; and
WHEREAS, Peggy A. Davis currently serves as a Board Trustee to the Public School Teachers' Pension and Retirement Fund of Chicago; and
WHEREAS, Along with her fellow Board Members, Peggy A. Davis has worked diligently to ensure that Chicago's public schools provide all students with an excellent academic foundation and a safe learning environment; now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, That we, the Mayor and the members of the Chicago City Council assembled this fourth day of May, 2011, do hereby express our gratitude to Peggy A. Davis for her years of public service to the more than four-hundred-thousand students currently enrolled in Chicago's public schools; and
 
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be presented to Peggy A. Davis.
